Dr. Munr Kazmir was born Page Pakistan in 1957. He graduated from the University of Punjab where he received his M.B.B.S./M.D. He then completed a one-year internship at the Mayo Hospital in Lahore and a two-year residency at the Holy Family Hospital in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. In 1984, Dr. Munr Kazmir arrived in the United States and successfully completed his internal medicine internship at the White Plains Hospital/Montefiore Medical Center in 1986, and completed additional medical studies in 1988 at the Methodist Hospital, Baylor College of Medicine, in Houston, Texas. During his externship in Houston, Dr. Munr Kazmir was recognized as the leading fundraiser for the Juvenile Diabetes Fund at the Methodist Hospital of Houston.

 

In 1990, he completed his PGY3 at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, Department of Medicine in New York. In 1989, Dr. Munr Kazmir’s first American entrepreneurial and philanthropic initiatives led him to develop a health care employment agency that provided medical staffing to hospitals in the metropolitan New York/New Jersey area, and also provided free medical services to needy residents in the region. In 1991, he founded Quality Home Care, a medical supply company that has served more than 200,000 patients in the metropolitan area. Dr. Munr Kazmir continues his quest to ensure that indigents, homeless, HIV patients, and neglected children receive appropriate medical care.

 

In 1995, he received the first of many humanitarian awards from the State of New Jersey Child Protection Commission and Children’s Trust Fund for his fundraising efforts to combat Juvenile Diabetes.

 

He was recognized in 1997 for his numerous personal contributions of prosthetic devices to children and adults who could not afford them. That same year, he received the Gold Medal Award from Chabad House of Somerset, New Jersey, which was previously granted to the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives. Also in 1997, at the Israeli Parliament (Knesset), the Prime Minister of the State of Israel and the Mayor of Jerusalem presented Dr. Munr Kazmir with the Theodore Hertzl Award in recognition of his exceptional humanitarian efforts. Other distinguished recipients of this award include members of the United States Senate and House of Representatives, the entertainment industry, and major political and business leaders from around the world. During this time period, Dr. Munr Kazmir supported New Jersey State Rutgers University’s Center for the Study of Jewish Life, and also supported a program that sends New Jersey school teachers and deaf students to Auschwitz to study the Holocaust.

 

In 1998, Dr. Munr Kazmir founded Direct Meds, Inc., a company licensed to provide prescription medicines throughout the United States. He also served as the Co-Chair of the RNC Gala event, and was recognized by the New Jersey General Assembly for his bipartisan efforts. The following year, the Governor of New Jersey recognized him for his exceptional philanthropic efforts.

 

The Republican Jewish Coalition also recognized Dr. Munr Kazmir in 1999 for his leadership and generous support of Jewish causes. In January 2001, Dr. Munr Kazmir received the Bonei Yerushalayim award and earned special recognition in the Congressional Record by the United States House of Representatives. His philanthropic efforts received special recognition in 2001, when he was presented with an Honorary Doctor of Laws from the Rabbinical College of America. This same recognition has been granted to three former Presidents of the United States, several former United States Secretaries of State, Governors, and prominent community leaders. Dr. Munr Kazmir was also named to the Bush-Cheney Transition Advisory Committee, was one of the underwriters of the Bush-Cheney Presidential Inauguration Committee, and served as Deputy Chair of the Presidential Gala.

 

In September 2002, Keren-Or, an organization in Jerusalem devoted to the care and rehabilitation of multi-handicapped blind children, awarded Dr. Munr Kazmir the Maimonides Award in recognition of his support.

 

In 2005, he was awarded a humanitarian award from the Be’er Hagolah Institutes in Brooklyn, NY, an organization devoted to educating and supporting immigrant children. In addition to his numerous philanthropic and charitable activities, Dr. Munr Kazmir is very active in promoting the concept of democratic government in third world countries and the Middle East. He remains committed to fostering women’s rights and supporting human rights causes throughout the world. Among his accomplishments,

 

Dr. Munr Kazmir has founded the American International School System (AISS) in 2006 – the most modern and state of the art school in the history of Pakistan. AISS brings top-quality American-based education to the underprivileged children in underserved regions. The school represents the largest U.S. educational investment ever made in Lahore, Pakistan. Dr. Munr Kazmir is a member of the Republican Jewish Coalition, the American Jewish Congress, the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), Republican Leadership Council, former member of GOPAC, Republican Regents, Chabad House, Anti-Defamation League (ADL), the Board of Trustees of the Rabbinical College of America, former member the Board of Trustees of Liberty Health Systems and Chairman of Liberty Health Systems Foundation, and former Trustee of Hackensack University Hospital Foundation. He previously served as the Chairman of the Board of the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) and Chairman of NATPAC (Metropolitan Area), and maintains cooperative, bipartisan relationships with many members of the United States Congress.

 

In 2005, the U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services appointed Dr. Munr Kazmir to serve a three-year term on the National Advisory Committee for the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. In addition, he was elected to be the Board of Directors of the Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs (JINSA). In 2006, Dr. Munr Kazmir was re-appointed by Governor Corzine of New Jersey to serve as a commissioner of the State of New Jersey Lottery Commission for a 5-year term.

 

He was appointed in 2003 to serve on the Medicare Coverage Advisory Committee.

 

In 2006, Dr. Munr Kazmir was on the New York Regional Selection Panel for the President’s Commission on White House Fellowships 2006-2007. Also that year, he was appointed to the board of the National Federal Drug Enforcement Foundation (FDAF). On May 4, 2006, Dr. Munr Kazmir received an honorary award by the Liberty Health System (one of the largest hospital systems in Northern Jersey).

 

In 2007, Dr. Munr Kazmir became the founder of the American International School System Foundation, a 501c which will provide scholarships to underprivileged children in Europe, Asia, and throughout the Middle East. In 2008, Dr. Munr Kazmir became a State Delegate At Large for New Jersey and attended the Republican National Convention in Minnesota.

 

In 2009, Dr. Munr Kazmir led a US delegation to Pakistan and Jordan to promote early education and multinational partnership. He successfully united a politically polarized landscape behind a common commitment to education. Pakistan President, Asif Ali Zardari, personally recognized Dr. Munr Kazmir for his extraordinary accomplishments. He asked Dr. Munr Kazmir to become a goodwill ambassador for Pakistan, and believed his commitment to education would strengthen the US-Pakistan partnership. The governments of Pakistan, Jordan, and Egypt have all expressed their enthusiasm for the American compassion that underlies AISS. Still in 2009, Dr. Munr Kazmir launched Easy Carry Medical Transportation, which provides transportation services to disabled citizens - in doing so, numerous high-quality jobs were created.

 

Finally, in 2009, NJ Governor-Elect Chris Christie recognized Dr. Munr Kazmir’s vast business accomplishments for the State of New Jersey by appointing him to the Labor and Workforce Development Transition Team.
